The relationship between mosquitoes and human beings seems particularly striking to me, and it contains a curious symbolism that reflects the impossibility of creating an empathetic and constructive bond. The mosquito lives by feeding on our blood, while humans try to avoid it by killing it—a relationship with no possibility of reconciliation.
Some social groups relate to one another from these same premises, making coexistence impossible. In this case, I asked my family to let themselves be bitten by mosquitoes for a few days, and then to kill them against the wall so that I could photograph them and represent the concept.
An absolute clash with no solution, except for the extermination of one of the two.
